Today is a good day to die!

Welcome back! Everything you share is so important – like food on the table! I check your site every day (until a few weeks ago when I started checking once a week). I have never made a comment before since discovering your site in July 2008, but your return is too momentous an occasion not to speak up!

ah, Chodpa, you're back - it must have been the greatness of the day called you :)

I agree with you. I've seen how embracing death puts the vitality into life, and I think of it every day, as the greatest adventure yet before me. It inspires me to practice.

But I have to say I'm not ready for death yet. I want to be much more skilled when I die, I want more time yet to practice.

So maybe the reminder here is to practice as if I were dying - I do this sometimes in the shrine room as a way of ignoring the sounds of other people - I should bring it to all practice.

Thank you both for your very kind comments. After a couple of years of very bad health I've not been able to post much. It's very nice to get such a 'welcome back'!

take care ....

I was very sorry to hear of your ill health for the last couple of years. Such a trial is so difficult. On the other hand, I’ve heard that there is no better way than illness to spend sanskaras and balance karma, which in turn clears the way for Enlightenment to enter, if not in this life, then the next. Even so, I hope you make a full recovery soon. I shall keep you in my heart. Jai Buddha! meb
